About RedBox Signmakers

Our apprentice Damian has been with us a few months now and we’re delighted to say he has settled in brilliantly and is enjoying his work with us.

Why we’re backing WACC apprenticeships – a big welcome to Damian

No day is the same for him as he gets to grips with our admin systems or more hands-on work in the unit. He’s also looking forward to learning more about our production processes and getting stuck in on a wider variety of tasks.

He says: “I didn’t know what to expect when I joined Redbox and have been really pleasantly surprised at how much I have learned and so quickly. I’ve loved the more practical aspects of my job and have loved help bring some projects to fruition with finishing touches which can make all the difference.

Damian found us through a fantastic support programme for young people at Walsall Adult and Community College (otherwise known as WACC) and is just one of lots of candidates being placed with thriving local companies.

For us, as we continue to flourish with some exciting and substantial projects in the pipeline thanks to an expanding order book, Damian’s help could not have come at a better time.

As well as spending most of his time with us, his journey as an apprentice includes a tailored and practical course at the college.

We take great pride in encouraging our team and have found it very rewarding to see Damian’s confidence grow – to the point he recently attended a national awards ceremony for us and picked up our Highly Commended accolade.

WACC is really making waves in the Walsall business community thanks to its dedicated employer gateway which understands and helps local businesses meet their company’s training and development needs.

Its team are working closely with us to ensure Damian gets the best out of his apprenticeship and meets all the requirements of a stringent learning programme, with excellent prospects at the end of it.

We’d like to say a big thank you to Lynette Gauntlett and all the team at WACC who have worked so hard to match Damian with Redbox and continue to support us into the future.
